BOATING

Head out on a “panga”, the classic boat that all the fisherman use right from the beach in Sayulita. It's usually a 20-30 minute boat ride south to Punta Mita or 20 minutes north towards La Penita. We'll find a lot of fish either way. Here is what Fish we can find: Mahi-Mahi(Dorado) they can get over 80 lbs., Pacific Sailfish - they get big (200+ lbs.) Roosterfish can grow to well over 100 lbs, Pargo (Big Cubera Snapper), Wahoo - these speedsters can hit your bait doing over 50 mph! Blue and Black Marlin, Giant Yellow fin Tuna, Broadbill Swordfish Snook/Robalo Snook are one of the most prized game fish.

Spend the day immersed in the marine life of the Marietas Islands and the Bay of Banderas on a 6 hour cruise from Punta de Mita. This tour leaves from Guayabitos, a nice little town about 20 minute drive from Sayulita.  Coral Island is known for the colorful reefs and wildlife.  You can do whale watching in season, tour the area or take it easy on the beach.  Have lunch or dinner in town at some of the excellent local restaurants. Or combine it with a tour of Alta Vista.

The secrets out! One of Sayulita's lesser known beaches has some of the best snorkeling in the area! This is because the hotels surrounding this beach have created a man-made rock wall to protect a swimming hole that has since blossomed with coral reef, bright tropical fish, sea urchins and stingrays hiding in the sand! Take a tour of the area surrounding Sayulita and fish along the coast or look at million dollar homes along the way.  Leaves from Punta de Mita.
